Scope and Contents

This is an eight-page typed speech by June Winona Snyder given to the Indiana Poetry Federation on October 9, 1943. She mentions holding a convention during World War II in the face of "gas shortages, traveling limitations, long hours at war work." Ms. Snyder gives advice to poetry writers. On page 7, she wrote: "Do not be disturbed if someone criticizes you for spending your time writing poetry in these war times. You are doing a very patriotic duty when you strive to keep your vision clear so that you may better discern a sure way out of the dilemma and guide men thusly."
