Biographical Note
Caroline Dale Snedeker was born in 1871 in New Harmony, Indiana. She was the great granddaughter of New Harmony founder, Robert Owen. Snedeker wrote two books on the New Harmony community. She was interested in one memebr in particular named Donald MacDonald. She traveled to Europe in 1929 and researched him eventually finding his diary in County Carlow, Ireland. She wrote a preface to the diary before donating it to the library in 1937. Snedeker died in 1956 in New Harmony where she is buried at Maple Hill cemetery.
