Biographical Note

Dr. James Edward Smoot was born January 1, 1868 in Davie County, North Carolina to James and Virginia Smoot. He married Minnie Mae Watson in 1894. In 1929 he completed a book on Marhal Ney's execution. Smoot died January 17, 1949 in Concord, North Carolina.
