Historical Note

The Indianapolis Civil War Round Table was organized in 1955, and is one of the oldest Civil War Round Tables in the United States. Monthly meetings are held from September through June, with a banquet meeting in June. They sponsored annual trips to Civil War battlefields and sites, led by tour directors/members Harry Smith and Nikki Schofield. At one time, the club also held Saturday morning breakfast meetings with a shortened program. The group contributes to the preservation of Civil War monuments and sites relating to Indiana soldiers.
