This collection includes a photocopy of a letter and envelope from Zachariah and Susannah Taylor in Greene County, Virginia on May 24, 1843, to their son, Paschal Taylor and his wife in Waterloo, Fayette County, Indiana, regarding family matters, the price of corn, the scarcity of money with personal debt rising, and the upcoming presidential elections and state politics. Also included in the collection is a photocopy of the Danville High School Annual Alumni Banquet announcement and menu, May 20, 1908.

Biographical Note
Paschal Taylor was born in 1799 in Virginia to Zachariah and Susannah Taylor. He married Permelia Eddins on May 20, 1817 and lived in Madison County, Virginia. By 1840, his family had migrated to Waterloo, Fayette County, Indiana. Taylor died May 13, 1861 in Putnam County, Indiana.
