Biographical Note

Solon Turman was about 1825 to parents Simon Turman and Abijah Cushman. Turman married Josephine Secrest on April 7, 1853 in Putnam County, Indiana. According to the 1860 U.S. Census, Solon Turman lived in Greencastle, Putnam County, Indiana with his wife Josephine, daughter Flora Turman and Melinda Kelly. In 1872, Solon Turman was elected 13th District Indiana Circuit Court judge, a position he held until his death March 22, 1881.
