Historical Note

Edwardsport, Indiana, was founded in 1830 when 418 acres were allotted from Knox County for a town site named Edwards. This name changed to Edwardsville, and then changed to Edwardsport. The first citizen of Edwardsport was Edward Wilkes. Edwardsport is located in the north east part of Knox County on a high bluff overlooking the west fork of the White River.
