Scope and Contents
This collection is a photocopy of a ledger book kept by Rushton and Sons, in Center Valley, Indiana, in 1887 and 1888. The book is imprinted with numbers through 199, but many of the pages were not photocopied, presumably because they were blank. Most of the entries are alphabetical by last name of the purchaser. The list contains the item purchased and the cost. The last page, 199, has a prescription for "cholera enfantum" consisting of "two table spoonsful of Listerime in one quart of warm water, luke warm, use as an injection." There is also a recipe for Singer Creams made with orleans molasses, sugar, butter, lard, sour cream, eggs, flour, soda, cinnamon, ginger, salt, and cloves.

The Rushtons listed in this account ledger are Edgar, Elizabeth, Enoch, James, Jasper, William, Jr., and William, Sr. The business was located in Center Valley, Indiana.
