This collection includes an original signed letter from Cole Porter to Reverend William S. Warford in Fayette, Missouri, on July 8, 1952, stating that he [Cole] had no mimeographed copy of the script of "Out of This World", suggesting that Warford write to The Salem Company, 17 A East 57th St., New York New York, to obtain a copy.

Biographical Note
Composer and songwriter Cole Porter was born on June 9, 1891, in Peru, Indiana. Porter attended Yale University where he wrote the Bulldog fight song as an undergraduate student, and entered Harvard University as a law student before changing his major to music. Porter spent his early adult years travelling through Europe, setting up residence in Paris and Venice. Porter married socialite widow Linda Lee Thomas in 1919. In 1937, when Porter’s legs were crushed by his horse in a riding accident, he continued to write music. During his lifetime, Porter wrote more than 800 songs, including the hits “Night and Day”, “I’ve Got you Under my Skin”, "It's De-Lovely", and "In the Still of the Night". Porter died in California, on October 15, 1964.
