Historical Note

The Purdue Varsity Glee Club was founded in 1893 and began with eleven students. Albert Stewart became the club's first full time director in 1932 and led the group for more than 40 years. Under his leadership, the club increased to 60 members and gave performances across the United States and internationally. The musical troupe offers a variety of music including classics, gospel, folk songs, contemporary hits, and novelty tunes. After more than 115 years, the young men of the Varsity Glee Club continue to entertain audiences and serve as goodwill ambassadors for Purdue University.
