This collection contains a September 22, 1973 letter written by Ellis J. Baker of Tucson, Arizona to Edwin V. O'Neel of Hagerstown, Indiana regarding information about the Amos Butler family of Hanover, Indiana. Baker also shared information about his grandfather, Dr. Theophilus Parvin, a well-known authority in the field of obstetrics in the 1800s.

Biographical Note

Ellis Javier Baker was born on October 5, 1895 to James P. and Mary Baker. His mother's parents were Dr. Theophilus Parvin and Rachel Butler, the youngest daughter of Amos Butler of Hanover, Indiana. Ellis Baker passed away on August 13, 1976 at Tucson, Arizona.
