Biographical Note

Amelda [Imelda] Keister Mortland was born about 1837 in Pennsylvania to Jesse and Margaret Keister. Between 1860 and 1862, she married Alexander Mortland, with whom she had four children. The Mortlands moved to Indianapolis between 1864 and 1866. Mortland died in 1925 and is buried in Crown Hill Cemetery.
