Scope and Contents
The collection contains newspaper clippings of the “A Hoosier Listening Post” column by Kate Milner Rabb ranging from September to October, 1930. The selected columns ran in the Indianapolis Star in September and October 1930. Rabb reprinted substantial excerpts of letters from Margaret Eliza Vance Morris to William Hamilton Lazarus Noble written in the 1840s while Noble was at Wabash College. Rabb obtained the letters from Mrs. Ferris Taylor, granddaughter of Morris.

Biographical Note
Margaret Eliza Vance Morris was born about 1803 in Ohio, the daughter of Lawrenceburg founder Samuel C. Vance and Mary Morris (Lawrence) Vance. Morris married Lazarus Noble, December 31, 1823. Noble died September 29, 1825, and Morris later married Bethuel F. Morris.
William Hamilton Lazarus Noble was born in 1825 to Lazarus Noble and Margaret Eliza Vance Morris. He attended Wabash College in the early 1840s. Noble died in 1877.

William Hamilton Lazarus Noble was born in 1825 to Lazarus Noble and Margaret Eliza Vance Morris. He attended Wabash College in the early 1840s. Noble died in 1877.
