This collection includes one diary and one letter from Maidlow in ranging from 1862 regarding Maidlow's travels.

Maidlow's diary contains thoughts about things in life, mostly when he traveled all over the place. Contains small entries and lists about what he sees each day. There also includes a small letter where he writes about growing old and it seems to be written in the form of a poem, talking about when a person dies, they are with the Lord where "the eyes now dim shall open to behold the King/And ears now dull with age shall hear the harps of heaven ring."
