Biographical Note

Abraham Lincoln, 16th President of the United States, was born February 12, 1809 in Hardin County, Kentucky. In 1816, at age 7, Lincoln moved with his family to Little Pigeon Creek, Indiana. Lincoln was admitted to the bar in 1836, and moved to Springfield, Illinois the following year to practice law. In 1860, Lincoln was elected President of the United States as a Republican. On April 14, 1865, Abraham Lincoln was assassinated while attending a play at Ford's Theater in Washington, D.C, and interred in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield, Illinois.
