Historical Note

H.H. Bartlett wrote a letter to Mrs. C.F. Kuehnle about her mother, Bertha G. Lockwood's, Japanese collection. He states how he became interested in Japanese literature and how ecstatic he was when he received a rare copy of a Japanese book that made him even more interested. He gives his thanks to Mrs. Kuehnle for meeting him and letting him see the collection.
