Scope and Contents
This collection contains the autograph books of Lizzie Kinnaman, Maggie Kinnaman, and Josie Lee with entries ranging from 1881 to 1899. The collection also includes Josie Lee's first term high school report card from the 1905-1906 school year and a post card sent to her sister, Faith, from John I. Denison while he was serving with the American Expeditionary Force in France during World War I (April 22, 1918).

Biographical Note
Richard D. and Margaret Kinnaman were early residents of Indiana. Their son, John (1841-1906), was a prominent citizen of Zionsville, Indiana and he was the father of Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie."
Lizzie Kinnaman was born on December 4, 1862 and married John M. Cates on May 29, 1893.
John's sister, Margaret "Maggie" Cates was born on January 29, 1856 a month after the death of her father. She was a school teacher and married James B. Lee on April 8, 1884 and they lived in Clinton County, Indiana. Her daughter Josephine "Josie" Lee was born on July 4, 1887 and her youngest child, Faith, was born on October 25, 1897. Maggie Lee died on March 27, 1945, Lizzie Cates on November 17, 1954, Josie Lee on March 5, 1976, and Faith on February 27, 1993.
