This collection includes Charles P. Kiphart's account book containing receipts for rent, taxes, gas, and other personal expenses (1893-1904); a commencement invitation for School No. 10, Indianapolis (June, 1910); a typed copy of a 1918 Thanksgiving Day poem about WWI soldiers by Esther Thompson and sent to Nellie Teepell (November 12, 1966); Christmas and Valentines Day cards sent to Mary Kiphart and Nellie Teepell (1927-1933, undated); hospital statements for the Teepell family (1929-1948); and reports of the American Legion Auxiliary, Eleventh District and the Broad Ripple Unit #312 (1942-1946).

Biographical Note
Charles Kiphart was born on February 8, 1867 in Owen County, Indiana to Jacob and Elizabeth Kiphart. He married Mary Florence Gentry (1871-1935) in 1890 and they had three children: Nina, Nellie, and Maurice. Sometime in the 1890s, he and his family moved to Indianapolis, Indiana. He died at the age of 55 on February 11, 1922.
Nellie Kiphart was born on November 9, 1894 at Spencer, Indiana, but lived much of her life in Indianapolis. She married Bertram Teepell (1893-1991) on August 10, 1928 and they had two daughters, Yvonne and Marinette. Mrs. Teepell was a member of the Eastern Star and the Broad Ripple Legion Auxillary Unit #312 and passed away at the age of 84 on November 24, 1978.
