Biographical Note

Darwin Newton Kelley was born to Burr and Edna Kaufman Kelley on October 18, 1912. He was married to Mary Wilson on November 19, 1941 and they had four children, Kathy, Karol, Sylvia and Brooks. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He earned his BA in 1938 from Huntington College, his MA from University of Iowa in 1939, and his PhD in history from Indiana University in 1953. He taught in the Fort Wayne Community School Corporation for thirty-five years. He died November 2, 2008.
