Biographical Note

Rose Francis B. Howe was the daughter of Francis and Rose (Bailly) Howe, who were married November 8, 1841. and the niece of Sister Mary Cecilia Bailly of St. Mary-of-the-Woods College in Vigo County, Indiana. She was born February 12, 1842 in Illinois and had a younger sister, Francis Rose. She was educated at St. Mary of the Woods Academy. Howe died in 1879 and is buried in the Bailly Cemetery in Porter County, Indiana.
