Biographical Note

Samuel Holloway married Elizabeth Pitman Oct. 25, 1816. He lived in Flushing, Belmont County, Ohio with 4 other members in his household according to the 1830 census. He was removed from the Plainfield, Ohio Friends Monthly Meeting between 1813 and 1833. He and Clarence Smith, curator of the Henry County Historical Museum of Newcastle, Indiana, were first cousins.
