This collection includes a wedding invitation, menu, newspaper clipping, letter, and scrapbook from John North ranging from 1878 to 1937 about local affairs, passing of local residents, political elections, and President James Garfield.
There is also an oversize marriage certificate for John North and Martha J. Bodine dated September 21, 1876.

Biographical Note
John North, born in 1841, was a resident of Bluffton, Wells County, Indiana. North had three known brothers: Jerre, Jacob, and William. John North was married to Martha Bodine, with whom he had three sons: Harry, Dwight, and Merle. John North fought in the U.S. Civil War with the 23rd Iowa Regiment, Company G. John North died April 23, 1921, and was buried at Fairview Cemetery in Bluffton, Indiana.
