Biographical Note
Harriet Stanhope Greathouse Frenzel Cain was born to Charles A. [Ashford] and Erma [Emma] Ribery [Ribeyre] Greathouse on June 15, 1907 in Posey County, Indiana. Her father was the Indiana Superintendent of Public Instruction in the 1910s. She was one of two children and was confirmed at the St. Paul Catholic Church in Indianapolis, Indiana on April 24, 1921. She married Henry Frenzel, with whom she had two children, in Marion County, Indiana on October 15, 1927. She married Joseph Edward [F.] Cain, with whom she had one child, in Manhattan, New York on September 22. She died November 24, 1985 in Indianapolis, Indiana and is buried in Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana.
