Biographical Note
Albert H. Graves was born in 1836 in New York to Lyman and Laura Graves, the oldest of four children. He was married to Lena before 1863, worked as a farmer, and they had several children. Graves enlisted in Company D, 67th Regiment, Indiana Infantry at Columbus, Indiana on August 19, 1862 as a private. He was wounded by the enemy and died on May 4, 1864. Graves was buried at a Mansfield, Louisiana cemetery.
