Scope and Contents

This collection consists of transcripts from a series of letters found in an old Indiana geology book. The first letter is from Richard Owen dated 13 August 1888, detailing that he mailed a “Report of a Geological Reconnaissance of the State of Indiana made in the year 1837.” The other letters from various individuals are addressed to Lieutenant A.W. Vogdes, of New York, about accessing various reports about Indiana’s geology.
