Biographical Note

Elijah A. Gladden was born on January 30, 1860. From 1879 to 1925, Gladden worked as a schoolteacher in many different schools. He then spent six years as the Scott County Superintendent of Schools. Gladden married Viola Vest on November 17, 1886 in Scott County, Indiana. The couple had three children. Gladden died September 4, 1936.
