The collection consists of a single blue ticket stub, No. 829, for Trip No. 3 of "The General" locomotive on August 24, 1963, starting at 11:00. The ticket has been punched with a replica of the die used by Conductor Fuller on the historic run of April 12, 1862.

Adminstrative History
In 1963, the New York Central System, the Pennsylvania Railroad Company, the Indianapolis Union Railway, the Louisville and Nashville Railroad, the National Model Railroad Association, and the Indiana Civil War Centennial Commission came together to sponsor a commemorative excursion of The General, which was captured on April
12, 1862 from Confederate forces in Georgia, by Union Army officers. The General appeared in Indianapolis, Indiana, from August 20 to 25, 1963, as part of the commemorative excursion of this historic train.
