Biographical Note
The Garrisons were early pioneers of Indiana. Joel Garrison (1760-18350), father of Josiah Garrison (1803-1897), moved with his family from Cumberland County, New Jersey to Franklin County, Indiana in 1816. Josiah married Abia "Abby" Bolsby (1807-1853) on January 2, 1824 and they had 9 children: Phebe, John B., Sarah, George W., Mary, Emily A., David, and William. He then married Mary Gibbons (1816- 1883), and they had 1 daughter, Hannah Belle. Josiah moved with his family to Hendricks County around 1832 and lived there until his death in 1897.
