Biographical Note

William Croghan was born in Ireland, but immigrated to America early in his life. He enlisted in the Army in 1776 and fought throughout the Revolutionary War. In 1784, he moved to Kentucky. Shortly thereafter, he married a sister of George Rogers Clarke. He settled in Jefferson County, Kentucky. He died in September 1822, in Locust Grove, Jefferson County, Kentucky.
