Biographical Note

Clara Schroeder Masteller was born on Jan. 15, 1892 to Henry J. and Helena Schroeder and grew up in Knox County, Indiana. She was the oldest of six children, including Ben G., Ester, Sophia, Herald and Wallace.

She married Paul Masteller, an Indianapolis house painter, around 1911, and they had one daughter, Beatrice. Clara wrote the Schroeder and Sander Family Histories, published in 1949. She died in Feb. or Mar. of 1974 in St. Petersburg, Florida at the age of 82.
