Scope and Contents
This collection includes one scrapbook. On the inside front cover is a label, thus: "M. B. Collins, Photographer, Martinsville, Ind." This page also has an oval black and white reproduced painting of Ulysses and Juia Dent Grant with their three sons and one daughter. President Grant is in his military uniform.
The scrapbook contains postcards, decorative advertisements, Bible verses, business cards, and newspaper clippings. Among the clippings are obituaries, marriage announcements, and poems. There are several business cards for A. J. Wampler, Druggist and Pharmacist, St. Paul, Minnesota. One page has three "Rewards for Merit" signed by teacher Jessie McKoin for Harry Cramer, Sam Cramer, and Will Cramer. One postcard shows "The Great Suspension Bridge Connecting New York & Brooklyn." One page has ladies' calling cards for Miss Lizzie A. Hyden, Julie Dell Cramer, and Ada M. Alverson. Two items have dates: "Christmas Dinner, 1879, given by L. E. Reed, Vice President, to the Employees of the First National Bank" and "Commencement Exercises of the Martinsville High School, Thursday, May 31, 1883.
