Biographical Note

Oliver H. Draper was born on March 15, 1828, to Thomas W. and Catherine (Herbert) Draper. According to one Ancestry.com record, he married Phebe Herbert on March 3, 1848, in Johnson County, Indiana. However, his wives listed in 1860 and 1870 were Mary, age 23, in 1860, and Jemina, age 28, in 1870. In 1860, Oliver lived in Clay, Wayne County, with Mary and one child, William, age 3. Ten years later, Oliver and Jemina had the following children: Will L., age 13; Laira A., age 8; Luther O., age 3; and Cora J., 3 months. Find-a-Grave lists Oliver H. Draper, born April 16, 1832, and died May 8, 1890.
