Biographical Note

James Vorhees Drake was born August 21, 1862 in Sullivan County, Indiana. On December 15, 1883, he married Mary Louise Riggs. The federal census for Fairbanks, Sullivan County, in 1900 lists James as 37 years old. Mary was 34 years old. Their daughter Mabel was ten years old. They are listed in the 1930 census in Sullivan, Sullivan County. James was 67 and Mary was 64. James died on November 8, 1933.
