This collection contains a photocopied essay entitled "Another Indianapolis Landmark Passing into Oblivion: Lains Business College" by Mrs. Gladys Downey. The 1975 typewritten paper gives a brief history of Lain Business College of Indianapolis (1903-1974) and genealogical information about the Lain family members who operated the school.

Administrative note

Lain Business College was started in Indianapolis in 1903 by Marvin M. Lain Sr. and his wife, Minnie. The school taught typing, shorthand, and bookkeeping. The school was defunct in January, 1974.
