Biographical Note

Harmon S. Dixon was born February 22, 1876 to William Trevanian Weir and Demiah Azalia (James) Dixon, who lived in Hamilton, Jackson County, Indiana. He had at least four siblings: two brothers, Frank H. (1871-1944) and Ernest, and two younger sisters, Savannah E., age one, and Nancy O.

Dixon served in Company D, 18th U.S. Infantry during the Philippine-American War. On March 25, 1903, he married Stella Taylor. In 1920, the couple lived in Haw Creek, Bartholomew County, Indiana and they had five: Ethel M., Mildred T., Lola E., Lewis W., and Ernest P.
