Biographical Note

David P. Craig, born in 1830 in Kentucky, married Mary F. Ella Grimes on October 14, 1857 in Washington County, Indiana. They had at least one child, unnamed in the 1860 census. He enlisted in Company K, Indiana 13th Infantry Regiment as a corporal on June 19, 1861 and was mustered out on March 17, 1863. He had been reduced to private and was discharged on a surgeon's certificate of disability. He worked as a carpenter in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1867.
