John Cook, Sr. lived in Noblestown, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania in 1840. He corresponded with a friend, John Herriott, in Franklin, Indiana [?]. He had at least two sons, John, and George H. Cook, a physician, of Franklin, Indiana [?]. He may have had a brother (or son), Samuel Cook, and a sister (or daughter), Ann Cook Sammuelton [?] of Johnston County [unknown state].
