This collection contains Rev. Ezra Butler Newcomb's typewritten manuscript, "Reminiscences" (circa 1930's). Rev. Newcomb wrote the manuscript in reply to frequent requests from family members that he share family history and early life in Indianapolis. The supplementary documents include copies of family letters and a funeral discourse given for Ezra F. Pabody.

Biographical Note
Ezra Butler Newcomb was born December 18, 1952 at Indianapolis, Indiana to Horatio C. and Eliza Pabody Newcomb. He married Minnie A Beardsley (1853-1931) on May 31, 1876 and they had 3 sons: Phillip (1877-1927), Horatio Millard (1878-1879), and Theodore (1896-1968). He studied and practiced law from 1879 to 1883. He then attended McCormick Theological Seminary and became a Presbyterian minister. He received his Doctor of Divinity in 1897. He pastored churches in Indiana, Iowa, and California and passed away on June 10, 1936.
