Biographical Note

Lawrence Alfred Cassidy was born April 12, 1895, near Bristow, Perry County, Indiana, to Abraham M. and Mary A. (Hallam) Cassidy. He enlisted in the Indiana National Guard in 1915, and served in active duty on the Mexico-United States border prior to World War I, and in England during the war. Cassidy married Eva M. Casper, April 6, 1918, in Perry County, Indiana, while still in the army. He was discharged at Camp Taylor, Kentucky, in 1919, and settled in Louisville, Kentucky, with his wife and children. Cassidy died in December 1977.
