Biographical Note
Jacob Carson was born on June 23, 1772 in Surry County, North Carolina to Uriah and Mary Cook Carson. He married Martha Horton on April 2, 1794 in Stokes, North Carolina, with whom he had at least six children. They were received into fellowship at the Fall Creek Monthly Meeting, Indiana in 1843. Carson was a Quaker farmer in Highland County, Ohio and Decatur Township, Marion County, Indiana (1844-1854) and died April 10, 1854 and is buried in the West Newton/Easton Cemetery in Marion County.
Jacob's son, Uriah Carson, who was born in 1801 to Jacob and Martha, one of at least six children. He was a farmer in Marion County (circa 1829-1860). Carson married Phebe and had six children. They were received into fellowship at the Fall Creek Monthly Meeting, Indiana in 1828. He died in November 1860.
