Biographical Note
Mary Hannah Krout was born November 3, 1851 to Robert Kennedy Krout in Crawfordsville, Indiana. She served as editor of the Old Terre Haute Express before moving on to travel and write articles for numerous newspapers and magazines around the world. She died in May, 1927 in Crawfordsville at the age of 69.
