Biographical Note

Robert McCauley Byers was born on November 17, 1845 to Henry and Maria Byers in Indiana and was the oldest of thirteen children. Robert was a farmer and married Nancy J. Parr on August 31, 1876 in Boone County, Indiana; they had at least one child together. He died on November 30, 1887 and is buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Franklin, Indiana.
