Biographical Note

Daniel E. Bruce was born on June 6, 1836 in Pennsylvania. He married Sarah E. Hizer on October 11, 1857 in Fulton County, Indiana. He served as a teamster in Company E, 87th Indiana Volunteers from August 31, 1862 until he mustered out on June 10, 1865. He and Sarah had eight children. They lived in Bruce's Lake, Fulton County, and in Harrison, Indiana. He died on July 19, 1920 and is buried in Bruce Lake Station, Fulton County, Indiana.
