Biographical Note
Nancy Emaline/Emeline "Emma" Brock was born to Newel and Martha Brock on November 28, 1838. She was the oldest of nine children. She and Alfred Lysander Brooks (a corporal in the 31st Indiana Volunteers Infantry, Company 26, who died on April 14, 1870) were married on June 11, 1857 and had four children. She died on July 25, 1930 and is buried in Bloomfield, Indiana. She is survived by son George and daughter, Lillie (Mrs. William F.) Dean.
