Biographical Note
Alexander C. Black was born in 1843 in Ohio. He enlisted in Company A, Indiana 84th Infantry Regiment, Aug. 6, 1862 and was promoted to full sergeant and mustered out on June 14, 1865. Alexander was married to Rachel and they had two children. In Farmland, Indiana he was an attorney and fire insurance agent.
