Biographical Note
Sarah F. Baker was born circa 1842 in Indiana. Her father was a farmer named John G. Baker, and her mother was called Rachel. She had several siblings, at least one of which fought in the Civil War. She married Thomas D. Baker in 1867 and the couple settled on a farm near her parents’ home; they had seven children together. Sarah F. Baker died on May 31, 1910 at the age of sixty-eight.
