The collection consists of a typed letter to the town board of Broad Ripple from Peter Delello, an employee of J. H. Aufderheide and Company. The letter discuses the fixing of the sidewalk on 60th street at the intersection with College Avenue, which ran along his property.

Administrative History

The J. H. Aufderheide and Company was dedicated to publishing the works of Indiana ragtime musicians. John Henry Aufderheide, founder, began the company after his daughter, May Aufderheide, achieved great success with the ragtime classic, "Dusty Rag". John Aufderheide supported local arts and organizations and believed that he could contribute to the new music scene by operating a music publishing company. J.H. Aufderheide and Company became an important publisher of Indiana composers between 1908 and 1913.
