Biographical Note
The Ketcham family came to the United States in 1629, when Ed Ketcham sailed to Long Island, New York from Cambridgeshire, England. His great-grandson Daniel Ketcham, who was born in 1753, for the colonists during the American Revolutionary War. He had nine children, including John (1782-1865), father of Ralph L. Anderson's great grandmother, Nancy Ketcham, and Absolam (1796-1846), father of Ralph's grandmother, Mary Ketcham.
Family members moved all over the country, eventually ending up in Indiana by the 1830s, residing in both the Indianapolis and Bloomington areas.
Ralph Lewis Anderson was born October 15, 1885 or 1887 in Bloomington, Indiana to Absolem Lorenzie and Russia Elizabeth (Tristler) Anderson. He married Murrel [Muriel] Startz in Marion County, Indiana on July 12, 1905, and they had one daughter, Dorene. He worked at a silk mill, as an office worker. Ralph died in February, 1970 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
