Biographical Note

Francis Amos, Jr, born in 1802, was the son of Francis Amos, Sr. Born in North Carolina, Amos moved to Shelby County, Indiana in 1830 after his marriage to Elizabeth Manuel in 1829. Amos’ sister, Lucinda “Lucy” (Amos) Stanley and her husband John Gardiner Stanley, also resided in Shelby County. Francis Amos, Jr. died in 1872.
