Historical Note
Indiana has over 100 native tree spees, which reflects the diverse types of soils and site conditions across the state. Native tree species include various types of ash, aspen, beech, birch, cedar, black cherry, American chestnut, cottonwood, dogwood, elm, hawthron, hickory, magnoilia, maple, oak, pine, poplar, redbud, black walnut, willow, and many more.
